Harris Products bolsters torch cutter line

The Harris Products Group says it has expanded its line of V-Series 62-5 straight hand-held cutting torches to include options with equal pressure mixers.

According to Mason, Ohio-based Harris, the V-Series "delivers the performance and quality of the Harris 62-5 while also offering the benefit of using the Victor-style conical tips that customers may already have in stock."

Harris previously introduced the V62-5 with injector mixers for customers who already had an inventory of Victor tips. With the addition of the equal pressure mixer version, regardless of the type of gas being used, customers can be certain that whether they use Harris or Victor tips, they can use a Harris 62-5.

The company, a subsidiary of Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric, says the Harris 62-5 product line is designed for demanding environments and includes torches for most fuel gases or alternate fuels. All 62-5 models are equipped with the FlashGuard check valve safety feature, designed to prevent the reverse flow of gases.

"The products are ideal for high-capacity jobs, thick material cutting, and heating, and are commonly used in applications such as scrap yards, shipyards, rail yards and steel mills," Harris Group says.

The V62-5 torches can cut materials up to 12 inches thick and come in lengths from 21 inches to 72 inches, says the firm. The torches have a forged head and are available in 70-, 90- and 180-degree head angles and brass levers designed to provide long service life.
