Atlona bolsters GAIN series with two-input mixer amplifier

The 50-watt GAIN-M50-LZ mixer-amplifier, which has been launched alongside a volume control wallplate, has been designed for low-impedance education and commercial applications.

Atlona has expanded its GAIN Series with a two-input mixer amplifier designed for low-impedance education and commercial applications.

The versatile GAIN-M50-LZ delivers two channels of 25 watts each into 4 or 8 ohms, or a single channel of 50 watts. It features two unbalanced stereo audio inputs on RCA and 3.5mm connections with independent level control for each.

An unbalanced 3.5mm output can pass the mixed signal to an assistive listening system or separate audio system.

The GAIN-M50-LZ's is targeted at the education market, offering features first introduced earlier this year within Atlona’s AT-OME-CS31 Series of switchers.

To ensure that lesson material and announcements are communicated clearly, audio ducking lowers the programme audio level on input one when a teacher speaks into a microphone system connected to input two.

The device's PA sense function, meanwhile, mutes the amplifier’s output upon detecting activity on the school public address system.

The GAIN-M50-LZ’s low-profile enclosure is UL 2043 rated for installation in plenum air spaces, or it can be placed on the wall behind a display or under a table.

Atlona has also introduced a volume control wallplate that seamlessly pairs with the GAIN-M50-LZ.

The AT-GAIN-VOL provides an easy-to-use manual interface for controlling volume levels when a traditional AV control system is not being used. It is housed in a US one-gang enclosure intended for wallplate openings, and includes interchangeable black or white trim kits.

Tommy Gay, product manager at Atlona, said: “The GAIN-M50-LZ is ideal for straightforward sound reinforcement in commercial and education applications. It’s a great solution for when you need to mix a couple of audio sources and drive some low-impedance speakers.

"For classrooms and other instructional spaces, it also provides ducking when the teacher speaks and mutes audio during public address announcements.”
